Today in class students set up their science notebooks. Each student was given a copy of the Life Science Standards to put inside the front cover of their notebook. They were given a standard lab format to use as a reference and that was put on page 1 of the notebook. Pages 2 and 3 are going to be used for a table of contents. Copies of what we put into the notebook can be found below. Students were asked to number each page in their notebooks. The expectation is that the notebooks come to class every single day this year. We will do the majority of our work inside the notebooks.

On page 5 we did an activity called Scene of the Crime and students took a quiz on that assignment when we finished. The purpose was to have students consider what it means to truly observe something. The students graded their quizzes and had time to reflect on how they did.
