Philosopy

The counselors at Campbell Middle School believe:

• All students are capable of succeeding and overcoming barriers.
• All Students have the right to be served by a comprehensive school counseling program.
• Student diversity will be considered when planning and implementing the school counseling program.

Campbell Middle School's comprehensive school counseling program should:

• Be driven by academic, career, and personal/social standards of the American School Counselor Association.
• Be created and implemented with school and community stakeholders to meet the needs of all students.
• Be evaluated using data to illustrate the impact the school counseling program has on student achievement while using the results for program improvement.

The counselors:

• Will adhere to the ethical and professional standards as advocated by the American School Counselor Association.
• Will participate in professional development to stay knowledgeable of new tools and strategies that will maintain an effective comprehensive school counseling program.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to implement a standards based comprehensive counseling program that provides pertinent scholarly information and support for overcoming barriers to learning while preparing one to compete and succeed in the global society. 

 

The Counselors:

6th Grade: Mr. Russell Meziere  

Mr. Meziere received his B.A in history from Morehouse College and his M.Ed in School Counseling from the University of West Georgia.  He served as an officer in the U. S. Coast Guard for 14 years prior to becoming a counselor.  Programs of special interest to him since he has been at Campbell include: Peer Helpers, Elite Gentleman’s Club, and Bullying Prevention Week.

7th Grade: Ms. Cinde Santner

 
Ms. Santner is a National Certified Counselor who received a B.S., M.S. and Ed.S in Psychology and Counseling from Florida State University.  She has been a School Counselor at Campbell for the past 10 years after briefly working in the mental health field.  Programs of special interest to her since she has been at Campbell include:  Salvaging Sisterhood, Peer Helpers,and Power over Prejudice.  Ms. Santner was named Cobb County Middle School Counselor of the Year in 2009.

8th Grade: Mrs. Mirna Wynn

Mrs. Wynn received her B.A in psychology from Georgia State University and her M.Ed in School Counseling from the University of West Georgia. She was a middle school teacher for 5 years before becoming a counselor. Programs of special interest to her since she has been at Campbell include: Junior Achievement, Peer Helpers, and Multicultural week.

Pebblebrook High School Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts Interest and Audition Dates

Pebblebrook High School Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts interest meeting will be held on November 7, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. in the Campbell Middle School's auditorium. All interested students need to make sure to write their full name and homeroom teacher on the sign-up sheet located on Mrs. Pudelski's desk in the counseling suite.

The sign-up sheet is located on Mrs. Pudelski's our Counseling Clerk's Desk. Please make sure to write your full name and homeroom teacher on the sign-up sheet. You will receive a pass on November 5th.

The audition date is December 4, 2012 at 12:30 in the Campbell Middle School's Auditorium.

In order for a student to audition a Completed Application needs to be turned in to Mrs. Wynn by November 27, 2012. Students will receive an application during the interest meeting. Applications are also available in the Counseling Suite.

Online Application for Magnet Schools is now ACTIVE

The online application for admission to Cobb County Magnet Schools is available at the following:

Please complete the online application. All instructions are listed in the portal. Remember that you will be submitting four teacher recommendations, and you must have your teachers' names/email addresses for that part of the application.  

Applications and teacher recommendations must be completed by December 7, 2012 before 5pm; anything entered into the partal after that date and time cannot be accepted.

Career Cruising Classroom Guidance Lesson 10/1 -10/05

8th Grade Parents

8th Grade Parents the week of October 1st to 5th I will be conducting the Career Cruising Classroom Guidance Lesson. It is extremely important that all students participate in this lesson as they will also complete their individual graduation plan. Parents you will receive important information about Career Cruising, Bridge Bill, Dual Enrollment, and the Individual Graduation Plan during Conference Week.

Fall 2011 IB Open House at Campbell High School

The Open House for all Cobb County students and families interested in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at CHS will be held on WEDNESDAY, November 16, 2011 at 7 p.m. in the Livingston Auditorium at Campbell High School.

After a general assembly and information session, prospective students and their families will get a chance to hear from the IB faculty members, to meet parents of alumni and current students, and to talk to several IB students.  If you have questions,  Email us or call us at 678-842-6856. 

If you are unable to attend the Open House event, please contact the IB Coordinator, Dan Penick, to maker alternate arrangements for a visit to the school. We look forward to seeing you soon as part of CHS IB!
