Campbell met AYP criteria in 13 out of 15 categories. AYP requires schools to meet criteria in three areas: Test Participation (for both Mathematics and Reading/English Arts), Academic Performance (for both Mathematics and Reading/English Language Arts), and a Second Indicator which is attendance.
Campbell met AYP criteria for test participation and the second indicator of attendance. We failed to meet AYP criteria for academic performance for Students with Disabilities and English Language Learners in the area of mathematics and Students with Disabilities fell short in the area of English Language Arts.
Despite not making AYP, Campbell has significant academic gains that can be celebrated:
•92% of CMS’ 6th graders met or exceeded standards in Reading – an
increase from the previous school year
•93% of CMS’ 6th graders met or exceeded standards in ELA – an increase from the previous school year
•73% of CMS’ 6th graders met or exceeded standards in Math – an increase from the previous school year
•Scale scores went up in 6th grade Reading by 3 points and 6th grade ELA by 2 points
•The number of students performing at level 1 (not meeting standards) in 6th grade was decreased in the areas of Reading, ELA, and Math
•The number of students performing at level 3 (exceed standards) increased in 6th grade Reading by 3% points
•The number of students performing at level 3 (exceed standards) increased in 7th grade Reading by 1% points
•8th grade scale scores went up in all content areas: Reading by 3 points; ELA by 9 points; Math went up by 1 point; Science went up by 3 points, and Social Studies by 20 points
•93% of CMS’ 8th graders met or exceeded standards in Reading – an increase from the previous school year
•90% of CMS’ 8th grades met or exceeded standards in ELA – an increase from the previous school year
•68% of CMS’ 8th graders met or exceeded standards in Social Studies – a significant increase from 39% the previous school year
•55% of CMS’ 8th graders met or exceeded standards in Math – an increase from the previous school year
•46% of CMS’ 8th graders met or exceeded standards in Science – an increase from the previous school year
•The number of students in 8th grade performing at level 3 (exceed standards) increased in the areas of Reading by 3 percent; ELA 7 percent; Science 1 percent; and Social Studies 10 percent
•The number of students in 8th grade performing at level 1 (not meeting standards) decreased in all content areas: Reading, ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies
•CMS continues to make academic gains with increasing AYP targets to achieve each year
