Students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades will take the Criterion Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) from April 12 - 18. The Criterion Referenced Competency Tests are part of the required assessment program for the state of Georgia. Students will be assessed on how well they have learned the content standards for their grade in five content areas (Reading, English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies). The dates for the tests are April 12 Reading * April 13 English Language Arts * April 14 Math * April 15 Science * April 18 Social Studies.
All tests are multiple-choice and will provide both the school and parent with important information about the strengths and weaknesses of students in core academic areas. Please stress the importance of the tests and encourage your student to do his or her best. Encourage your child to be present and on time each day. Provide a healthy breakfast each morning and let your child know that you have the confidence in his/her ability to do his/her best and advise your child not to worry – just do the BEST he/she can.
Eighth graders must pass Reading and Math for promotion to the 9th grade. Eighth graders who fail Reading and/or Math will need to retake the test. The Retest is scheduled for May 20 – May 24.
In order to be eligible for participation in the Relay for Life Dance and grade level field day activities, students must be present for all five days of testing. It is important for your child to be at school on time each testing day. Testing begins in our school at 9:15 AM. Students will not be allowed to enter the testing room once testing has started.
Our entire building will be working together to maintain a positive, quiet, and supportive testing environment.
