GCF, LCM, Unit 2 Post-Test

On Tuesday, students participated in a Jigsaw activity.  The learned about the 3 methods to find the GCF (Greatest Common Factor).  Please review the Cornell Notes that students took during the Jigsaw activity.  The notes are on yellow, purple, and green paper.

On Thursday, they will learn how to determine the LCM (Least Common Multiple) for a set of numbers using a Venn Diagram.  Mrs. Smith found a great activity using the Venn Diagram.  Ask your student to show you how to find the LCM and GCF for a set of numbers sometime this week.  See the LCM PowerPoint below for further practice and review.

Online Resources

The students went to the computer lab today to experience different online resources that are available to them.  Please encourage your student to utilize these online resources.

1. http://go.hrw.com/gopages/ma/msm1_07.html

Students can access tutorial videos, a glossary, games, and other activities to review the topics they are learning about in class.

2. www.myskillstutor.com

Students have the opportunity to complete interactive activities that address the standards taught in 6th grade.  Currently, I have activities assigned for Units 1 and 2.  I placed a label on the front page of each student's agenda that has the log in information for SkillsTutor.
