Welcome Back to another fantastic year of math! Everyone is off to a great start with our first units of study. This year students will continue their progress as we enable them to relate mathematics to the global community. All students will be expected to relate their learning to one of the five areas of interaction: Approaches to Learning, Human Ingenuity, Environment, Health and Social Education, and Community and Service. We anticipate that all students will be able to apply the skills they learn in math to be citizens who can contribute to issues that affect the world and not just those that are limited to one isolated area.
We encourage all parents to visit www.georgiastandards.org to view the curriculum (Georgia Performance Standards) that students will participate in for this school year.
Parents and Community Members are invited to join us on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. for our annual Family Math Night. At the event, you will experience how our junior Spartans put math skills into action. Sample events for the evening include...
- Participate in math activities with your child
- Participate in an Interactive White Board Technology Demonstration
- Receive Skills Tutor (Online Program) training
- Receive student expectations for the IB (International Baccalaureate) MYP Programme at Campbell Middle School
- Enjoy refreshments, door prizes, and more!
We look forward to seeing many Spartans, family members, and community members at this event.
