Week of May 12th and 19th
In Earth Science we are continuing our study of Conservation. We simulated an oil spill and are working on an Environmental cube. We finish our year with our Energy Dilemma Project.

Week of May 5th
In Earth Science we are beginning our conservation unit. We are currently looking at renewable and nonrenewable resources. We will work on a conservation poster.
In Life Science we are continuing our unit on the kingdoms. We are currently studying plants and animals. This week we will be designing a garden.

Week of April 28th
In Earth Science we are creating Planet Shortcuts. Students will present the shortcuts on Friday.
In Life Science we are beginning our study of the kingdoms. We are creating a " Virus/Bacteria" wanted poster. We are also going to study protist.
In Physical Science we are beginning our study on Science of Toys. This week we are making catapults and paper airplanes.

Weeks of April 14th and 21st
In all classes we are reviewing and preparing for the CRCT. Our test will be given on Monday March 28th. Please make sure you review concepts nightly. On test day make sure you read all questions very carefully.

Week of March 24th
Earth Science
In earth science we are studying our solar system. Our focus this week will include the planets, asteroids, meteors, comets, and the moon.
Planet Research: You may go the web site listed below, use destiny or Cobb on line resources. Do not use any other websites to gather information while at school. Don't forget your textbook is a great resource.
Life Science
In Life science we are beginning our unit on Evolution. Below you will find your assignment for Monday March 24th. Make sure you follow the directions exactly.
First the journals and letters from Darwin's voyage on the HMS Beagle and other accounts of the Galapagos. Then go to Adventuring in the Archipelago click on the flags and read the journal entries of modern day events. Determine which entries are true and which entries are false. Support your reasons based on the information you read at the beginning of class. Each response should be a minimum of three sentences.
At the conclusion of the first activity you then need to view pictures of organisms that are found at Reports from the Galapagos. You then need to write a detailed journal entry describing the wildlife and geography you encounter from these pictures. Your journal must be a minimum of eight sentences.

In Physical Science we are beginning CRCT review. This weeks focus is on matter. Students are currently working on a review packet.

Week of March 17th
In Earth science this week we are finishing our unit on Weather. Our unit test will be on Wednesday. We will begin our unit on space for the remainder of the week. Topics include: theories of the universe, galaxies and gravity.
In Life science we are finishing our unit in genetics. We are discussing cloning and mutations. The unit test on genetics will be given on Friday.
In Physical science we are finishing our unit on sound. We are concluding our study by completing an application of sound project. Our unit test is scheduled for Friday.

Earth Science
In earth science we continuing our study of weather. Our focus for this week will be weather tools, and reading a weather map. Please note a test is planned for next week.

In life science we are continuing our study of genetics. We will work with pedigrees, genetic research and cloning.
Physical Science
In physical science we are continuing our unit on sound. We are conducting various investigations with sound. We also will share our musical instruments that students created.

Week of March 3rd
Earth Science:
We are continuing our study of Weather. Teams of students are researching natural disasters caused by weather. We will also discuss clouds and weather maps.

Week of February 25th
Earth Science
In earth science we are studying weather we are discussing conduction, convection and radiation, global winds, temperature differences on land and water, we will also begin researching weather events.
Life Science
In life science we are continuing our study of genetics. We are discussing punnet squares and traits that are passed from generation to generation. Don't forget about your letter to Mendel which is due on Wednesday February 27th.
Physical Science
In physical science we are finishing studying light. We will have a test on light on Wednesday. We will spend the rest of the week studying sound.
