Tuesday, Jan 10 - Freewriting inn Journal about holiday break. Review Winter Break Packet due tomorrow. Homework: Winter Break Packet. Read 20-45 minutes in AR book on own ZPD. Quiz #1 due by 1/20/2012.

Wed., Jan 11 - Homework Due: Winter Break Packet. Worksheet "Focus on Persuasive Writing" given. Download Persuasive worksheet Worksheet reviewed as a class. Homework: Read 20-45 minutes in AR book on own ZPD. Quiz #1 due by 1/20/2012.

Thurs, Jan 12 - Worksheet "Writing Persuasively" (page 98-99). "Write On" portion was written in Writing Journal and includes a T-Chart with pro's and con's for the claim.  Homework: Read 20-45 minutes in AR book on own ZPD. Quiz #1 due by 1/20/2012.

Friday, Jan 13 - STAR Diagnostic Test. Diagnostic were sent home with students for parent review and signature. Homework: Worksheet on Adjectives and Articles (indefinite articles are the words "a" and "an." while Definite article is the word "The". Adjectives are words that modify a noun or pronoun.) Read 20-45 minutes in AR book on own ZPD. Quiz #1 due by 1/20/2012.

NOTE: Q2 Report Cards sent home with students FRIDAY for a parent signature.
